Big Update

Hello everyone. There have been a lot of new subscribers, but many of you long term subscribers have probably noticed that I have been quiet for a while. You were probably wondering where the heck I've been. Well today I’m going to let you in on what I’ve been working on, and there are some very exciting projects coming out soon.

My main project is an epic sci-fantasy western series. The product of more than a year of world building, the world of Velorium is a planet of vast ruin filled deserts where wind powered duneships carry people across the sands in search of lost technologies while the remnants of empires past vie for control of the planet, and cosmic horrors from another plane seek to settle their ancient score with mankind. It’s post apocalyptic cowboys fighting lovecraftian horrors with a splash of Firefly (one of my favorite shows of all time).

So what projects are in the works for this fascinating new world?

There are two novels in progress. The first, Windblade, will be the first novel in the core series, Velorium Adrift. This series will follow the crew of the duneship Windblade as their life of piracy slowly sees them pulled into a larger conflict.

The second novel, The Final Voyage of Rewalt Wiley, is the prequel to Windblade and will only be available to my mailing list as a thank you for following me. It tells the story of the Windblade’s previous captain as he puts off retirement for one final job.

In addition to the novels I will be posting regular articles to my website. These will focus on the setting for Velorium including the rich and diverse cultures, explanations about the history and technology of the world, as well as insight into my writing process and the real life historical technology and events that inspired the setting. Fans of 19th century weapons and technology should find these especially interesting.

In addition to the Velorium content I've also begun publishing stories in the Inkwell anthology. For those not familiar, Inkwell is an incredibly talented group of writers that publish monthly short story anthologies from prompts selected by their discord members. I am very excited to be collaborating on these anthologies, and hope y'all check them out as well. This will give me a chance to experiment with other topics and writing styles while I continue to work on my main projects.

I know this already seems like a lot and believe me I get overwhelmed by it all from time to time, but there are a few more things coming down the pipeline including cover reveals on both Windblade and The Final Voyage of Rewalt Wiley.  Both covers were designed by Lindsay McDonald of Firefly Designs and they are absolutely stunning. I cannot wait to share them. There are a few more projects that I can't share just yet but this is shaping up to be a very exciting year.
